45-Minute Appt? or Mini?We encourage you to use the 15-minute mini appointment as much as possible. 45-minute appointments are in high demand, and there is up to a three-week wait. Many needs can be served through the mini appointment such as initial questions about our services, a quick resume review and a referral to our career assessments. Special note: We do not critique personal statements for graduate school in either the 15 or 45 minute appointments. Instead use our online statement review service. ResourcesMake an AppointmentUse these 15-minute sessions as a starting point for career counseling, to get answers to specific questions or to have your resume critiqued. Mini-Appointments are generally available Monday-Friday from 1:00-4:00pm; hours may vary occasionally because of various Career Center events. Online sign-ups only. These 45-minute appointments can be used for more in-depth counseling according to your areas of career interest or your academic discipline. You'll be able to discuss your career goals, learn about career planning strategies, and receive assistance with a job/internship search or application to graduate school. Peer Advisor Drop-InsDrop in for brief one-on-one sessions with Peer Advisors. Career Center Peer Advisors are knowledgeable about Career Center services and resources, and can give you basic advice about how to best use these resources. Because Peer Advisors are Cal students too, they can be sympathetic to your situation. Peer Advisors are available for first-come, first-served drop-in sessions in the Information Lab on the 2nd floor of the Career Center. Drop-ins at the Career Center - Peer Advisors do not hold Career Center info lab drop-ins during the summer months.
